Eligibility: drugs and alcohol
If you have ever used illegal drugs by injection (intravenous drug use), you are not eligible to donate.
People who use cannabis and/or consume alcohol can be eligible to donate, but must not be impaired or under the influence at the time of donation.
Alcohol
Donors must not be impaired at the time of donation as this prevents us from obtaining informed consent.
Cannabis
Individuals who use cannabis may be eligible to donate. Donors must not be impaired at the time of donation as this prevents us from obtaining informed consent.
Cocaine
Individuals who use cocaine may be eligible to donate. Donors must not be impaired at the time of donation as this prevents us from obtaining informed consent. Those who have injected drugs are eligible to donate 12 months from the date of last use.
Injection or intravenous drug use
