Donating blood or plasma has never been more convenient. Edmonton's new donor center is now located in Whitemud Crossing (five minutes away from Southgate Center). The new location features an array of amenities, ample parking, and a modernized donor experience.

The Edmonton donor centre is one of Canadian Blood Services’ larger collections sites. It collects over 40,000 units of whole blood, over 1800 platelet units and over 9000 plasma units annually.

Why did you choose that location?

Donors and staff were surveyed in January 2023 to determine the impact of potential future locations of the Edmonton donor centre. This location aligns with the survey results regarding donor centre location preference, i.e., South-Central Edmonton and provides access to ample parking and public transit options.

What can you tell me about the site?

Whitemud Crossing is a community hub located five minutes (1.5 km) from Southgate Centre. The Whitemud Crossing location features a variety of amenities and is easily accessible from Calgary Trail, Gateway Boulevard, Whitemud Drive and the Anthony Henday. 

Will the new location have the same operating hours?

Yes, the new location will have the same operating hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Where will I donate in the meantime?
