First time mom gets a second chance

After delivering my daughter, I suffered a massive hemorrhage and required nine blood transfusions along with many other blood products. There is no doubt in my mind that I would not be here today without blood donors.
Because complete strangers took the time to donate, today I am celebrating my very first Mother’s Day. I get to hold my daughter, watch her grow, and be here for all of the moments I almost lost.
Every single day, I wake up grateful for the people who gave me a second chance at life without ever knowing my name. Blood donation is such a simple act, but for families like mine, it means everything.
To every donor: thank you. You didn’t just donate blood you gave a mother the chance to come home to her baby.
