I had my appendix removed through surgery in 2011. It was a normal procedure and for some reason I began to internally bleed after. I had to be rushed back into surgery, and I had lost almost 1.5L of blood. It was thanks to a blood transfusion that I survived. I am forever thankful to the kind soul who donated blood and it’s thanks to them that I am still here. I have been donating since I was 17 because I was inspired by my dad donating. I am universal donor, so I know my blood is always in demand. I donate to give back and to be that donor who saves another. A simple action like donating blood has such a huge impact. Thank you to the person who saved my life.
