I did receive numerous platelet infusions but last September (2025) I visited the local ER for an unrelated health issue but during the blood test I was informed that my platelet counts were extremely low (16), and I required an immediate platelet transfusion before any other serious health implications. The doctors worked with Canadian Blood Services for the platelet of my blood type. Without the donors it would have been impossible to get the platelets on a very short notice. My platelet count is still below normal but did increase since the infusion and other treatments. I can’t thank enough to the donor/donors that made such a huge impact in my life, basically gave me a second life and chance to live beyond.
