ENMAX: helping to strengthen Canada’s Lifeline

ENMAX has been supporting Canada’s Lifeline for 15 years.
ENMAX teams across Calgary have been proud supporters of Canada’s Lifeline since 2009. As a utility provider to many Albertans, ENMAX is committed to helping build strong and resilient communities. “At ENMAX, we celebrate and support our employees in how and where they choose to give – and many choose to support Canadian Blood Services,” says Krista Moroz, Manager of Community Impact at ENMAX.
In 2021, after supporting Canadian Blood Services for over 12 years, the ENMAX team decided to become part of the Partners for Life program. Since joining, ENMAX has seen employee engagement triple.
Employees continue to look for ways to expand their support by donating blood, making financial donations, building awareness in the community, joining the stem cell registry and registering their intent to donate organs and tissues. As a team, ENMAX has continued to build awareness about Canadian Blood Services’ new donor centre in Calgary that opened in May and strengthened their support by engaging employees in monthly team blood donations.
Teams from across the organization donate regularly, and community giving is part of a culture that is well known to ENMAX employees.
“We provide opportunities for team members to volunteer, and donating blood or plasma is a lifesaving volunteer opportunity they embrace. Giving back is part of who we are – and our team brings this value to life by volunteering with community organizations throughout the city all year round,” says Krista.
The regular team donations that ENMAX employees participate in have allowed their Partners for Life team to grow and thrive over the years. And now, they are encouraging more donors and other teams to join them in supporting patients by being a part of the 450 challenge! The efforts of ENMAX are going a long way to helping us reach the 450 new donors we need to start every day this winter.
