Immunohematology Referral Testing Services – Brampton, ON - NIRL

The National Immunohematology Reference Laboratory (NIRL) has been servicing the Canadian transfusion service community for over 50 years. NIRL staff provide testing and consultation to assist in resolving complex serological cases, selection of most appropriate blood for transfusion, providing information on rare blood group antibodies, and medical consultation.

The professional experienced staff has access to advanced serology testing, red cell genotype testing, and extensive rare red cell collection which enables the selection of the most appropriate red cell units. Testing is performed with rigorous quality standards and process controls.

As of April 01, 2020, the Brampton, ON, Diagnostic Services will be expanded to become the new National Immunohematology Reference Laboratory and continue to provide the same level of referral testing and consultation services to hospital customers.
